New 6-seater chairlift from Gampenalp to Palinkopf

Gampenbahn 1/15

Gampenbahn

The new 6-CLD/B Gampenbahn E4 has replaced the 4-seater chairlift Gampenbahn since the winter of 2018/19. This state-of-the-art 6-seater chairlift boasts the greatest vertical difference of any lift of its kind. It is being constructed largely along the existing route from Gampenalp to Palinkopf. At the valley station, a new mountain restaurant is also being built.

After 30 years in operation, the existing lift—a detachable 4-seater chairlift with weather protection hoods—was dismantled in early summer 2018. Upon opening, the new Gampenbahn, like its predecessor, is a record-breaking lift. The cable car from Doppelmayr overcomes the greatest vertical difference worldwide for a 6-seater chairlift with weather protection hoods, running from Gampenalp to Palinkopf.

The new Gampenbahn impresses not only with its performance; Silvrettaseilbahn AG also places great emphasis on comfort and appearance. The more than 120 carriers from Doppelmayr’s D-Line series feature ergonomically shaped, extra-wide individual seats with seat heating and weather protection hoods. The chairs are also equipped with improved safety bars for an optimized safety design. For maximum comfort and especially quiet operation, all technical components have been selected to ensure the system runs with minimal noise and vibration.

The entire facility is also distinctively designed. For example, the backs of the chairs are printed with images of various animals from the surrounding mountain world, making each chair unique.
