Route planner Ischgl/Samnaun – Silvretta Arena

Access Ischgl/Samnaun – Silvretta Arena & on-site parking

The Ischgl/Samnaun ski resort is located in the Paznaun Valley (Tyrol) in Austria and in Lower Engadine (Graubünden/Grisons) in Switzerland. To drive to Ischgl, you take the Pians/Paznaun/Ischgl exit of the Arlberg Schnellstraße expressway and then follow the Silvretta Bundesstraße road for around 23 km through the Paznaun Valley. There are three large free car parks and payable underground car parks near the lifts in Ischgl. In the summer of 2015, the lift company constructed the Parking Lounge in Ischgl, creating around 150 payable parking spaces for day visitors. The car park is connected directly to the base station of the 3-S Pardatschgratbahn lift by a 150 metre tunnel. From there, escalators take you straight to the entrance of the lift. A new ski bus terminal was also constructed at the same time as the Parking Lounge. To drive to Samnaun, you take the Reschen exit of the A12 Inntal Autobahn motorway (Oberinntal intersection) and then continue for around 50 kilometres to the free car park at the double-decker cable car in Samnaun-Ravaisch. The road curves steeply up the mountain over the last few kilometres to Samnaun. In heavy snowfall, you should definitely carry snow chains in the car.

Winter Closure

The Paznaun Valley is a cul-de-sac in winter. It is not possible to drive to Montafon over the Silvretta Hochalpenstraße road in winter. It is also not possible to drive from Ischgl to Samnaun. You always need to go via Landeck, around 80 km away.
