Description Hochrindl – Sirnitz

From Sirnitz (10 km) and Deutsch Griffen (8 km), Hochrindl can be reached within 10-15 minutes. From the small village, located at 1,600 m altitude, you can take the Zirbenlift I drag lift up towards Kegel. A shorter platter lift, the Zirbenlift II, runs alongside the main lift for a short distance. Night skiing is also offered on the easy slope.

To reach the summit of the 1,745 m high Kegel, you need to take a medium-difficulty, wide forest run to the Kegel drag lift. This lift takes you all the way to the top of the mountain. Since it is quite flat up here, a short rope lift, the so-called Verbindungslift, takes you over to the sunny slopes at the four-seater chairlift. Three sunny slopes of medium difficulty lead down to the Hochrindl four-seater chairlift (Sonnenlift). From here, the lowest point at 1,470 m, you can take the Kruckenlift drag lift up to the highest point, the Kruckenspitze at 1,886 m.

The Kruckenspitze is the highest forested mountain in Carinthia. The two runs from the top are mostly difficult and are also perfectly suited for FIS races. The four-seater chairlift then takes you back up to the Kegel. Not to be forgotten is the Stoichart drag lift on the right side of the area. On the medium-difficulty and very wide run down to the lift, you can really pick up speed.

A big plus in this family ski area are the cozy huts. In the huts, you will be treated to Carinthian specialties.

Thanks to the road network on the Hochrindl, almost every valley station (except for the Stoichartlift) can also be reached by car. It is also very nice that no slope is interrupted by a road, as the ski runs have been specially tunneled underneath.

Since the ski area is mostly below the tree line, avalanche danger is not known here, and the slopes wind through forest clearings and over gentle alpine meadows back down to the valley.

The ski area is perfect for connoisseurs and families – rustic huts, good food, and beautiful slopes invite you to linger on the Hochrindl between Kegel and Kruckenspitz in the Nockberge mountains.
