Environmental protection of the ski resort Hochkönig – Maria Alm/Dienten/Mühlbach

All cable cars and snowmaking facilities in the Hochkönig region are powered 100 percent by electricity from renewable energy sources. When it comes to snowmaking, great importance is placed on the responsible and resource-efficient use of water and energy. In addition, the ski area uses digital snow depth measurement, enabling precise and efficient planning. There are also clearly defined areas where skiing is permitted and where forests and wildlife have their protected zones.

At the mountain station of the Natrun- and Sonnbergbahn, a photovoltaic system has been installed, making a significant contribution to sustainable power supply. It generates a considerable amount of renewable energy each year. The entire vehicle fleet has also been converted to HVO fuel, which significantly reduces CO₂ emissions.

With the Guest Mobility Ticket, overnight guests can use all public transport in SalzburgerLand free of charge. The Hochkönig ski area has an excellent ski bus system, so you won’t need your car for the entire holiday.

Many restaurants and mountain huts offer regional dishes, as well as vegetarian and vegan specialties. Sustainable accommodations are also available.
