Highlights:
Snow reliability, long season, excellent slope grooming, family-friendly, unique location in the Nagelfluhkette Nature ParkNegative points:
Transition from one side of the ski area to the other, no dining options at the mountain stations, parking feesDescription Grasgehren – Bolgengrat
At the top of the Riedberg Pass (1420 m), the road branches off to Grasgehren, where you will find plenty of parking spaces right next to the lifts. The pass is located between Obermaiselstein and Balderschwang.
On the right side of Grasgehren, the Bolgengrat double chairlift whirs up to the highest point in the ski area at 1665 m. From up here, intermediate runs lead back down to Grasgehren. Advanced skiers can carve their way down through extremely steep terrain in deep powder directly below the double chairlift.
The Uisar drag lift and a short children's lift are also located on the side of the chairlift, providing access to easy runs. To reach the parallel drag lifts Hörnle 3 and 4, you need to pass the parking lots, ride through a dip with plenty of momentum, and push yourself up the last few meters to the base station of the drag lifts. The very easy family run from the top station of the drag lifts takes you directly back to the double chairlift.
The runs at the drag lifts are relatively easy at the top and become a bit steeper towards the end, but are still manageable for beginners. For a break, the rustic Grasgehrenhütte is available right next to the parking lots and the double chairlift. The hut offers excellent food in a well-kept atmosphere. Here, you can round off your ski day with a good drink.
