Test result

4 out of 5 stars

Evaluated by Skiresort.info, the world's largest test portal for ski resorts.
The evaluation is done as follows

Environmental protection of the ski resort Gitschberg Jochtal

In the Gitschberg Jochtal ski area, gentle tourism is practiced. The electricity for the facilities and snowmaking comes from 100% South Tyrolean hydropower, making it green energy. In Vals, there is a woodchip plant that supplies the village with heat, and in Meransen, you’ll find South Tyrol’s first climate hotel. Thanks to the village lifts in Meransen and Vals, many businesses can be reached directly by ski: a ski holiday without a car is possible. Paid ski buses connect the surrounding villages with the ski area.

Public transportation/on-site mobility

  • Train connection
    Mühlbach train station
  • Ski buses
  • Scheduled buses
  • Chargeable ski buses in Meransen, from Rodeneck to Vals, from Spinges–Natz to Vals, and from Vintl to Vals. A cable car runs from Mühlbach to Meransen.
