In the heart of Lungau in the Salzburg region lies the Fanningberg ski resort. The ski area is easily accessible via the A10 Tauern Motorway, exit St. Michael (Sankt Michael im Lungau). Coming from the north, you pass through the toll-required Tauern Tunnel before the exit; coming from the south, you pass through the toll-required Katschberg Tunnel. From the motorway exit, it takes about 25 minutes to reach the ski resort. From Mariapfarr/Seitling, a mountain road leads up to almost 1,500 meters. The free parking spaces at the ski resort are located just below the valley station. If you are coming from the north, you could avoid the toll-required Tauern Tunnel by taking the Altenmarkt exit as an alternative. However, the road then leads over the Radstädter Tauern Pass (1,738 m) and you pass through Obertauern.
