    The entire Tiroler Zugspitz Arena is renowned for its cross-country ski trails that wind through the valley. 100 km of trails stretch across the villages of Ehrwald, Lermoos, Biberwier, Bichlbach, and Heiterwang. Some of the trails can also be artificially snowed. From Igelsee, there is also a 15 km long unprepared natural trail through the Gaistal, leading to the other side of the Wetterstein massif to Leutasch. From there, you can return to Ehrwald by public transport or taxi.
