The Cimone ski area covers the northern and eastern slopes of the well-known Monte Cimone (2,165 m). The ski runs are located both above and below the tree line and are mainly served by chairlifts. The main towns around the Cimone ski area are Fonona, Sestola, Montecreto, and Riolunato. The Cimone winter sports area is also popular with ski tourers and snowshoe hikers. There is a ski bus connection to the Pian del Falco ski area in Sestola, where the ski passes are also valid.
