Among the "big three" ski resorts in Argentina is Chapelco, located near San Martin de los Andes. The town of San Martin de los Andes is situated at 640 m in a beautiful landscape on the shores of Lago Lácar, overlooked by the Lunin volcano. After turning off the main road towards the ski resort, a gravel road leads up to the lifts.
