Relatively short runsDescription Canada Olympic Park – Calgary
On the outskirts of Calgary lies the Canada Olympic Park, where the 1988 Winter Olympics took place. Today, the park has a lot to offer. In winter, several lifts operate on the "Ski Hill," and you can also try out rides on the bobsleigh track or take a guided tour of the grounds (ski jump, bobsleigh track, Hall of Fame, museum). If you take one of the chairlifts up the "Ski Hill," you'll enjoy a magnificent view of the Canadian Rockies (daytime only). From the summit, you can also catch a glimpse past the Olympic ski jump towards downtown Calgary. The runs are mostly easy to intermediate and about 500 meters long. On the right side of the ski hill, there is also a halfpipe for snowboarders. Thanks to state-of-the-art snowmaking systems, skiing is possible as early as November. Ski operations run until 9 p.m. on weekdays and until 5 p.m. on weekends, attracting many visitors from Calgary who just want to make a few turns. As soon as it gets dark, the floodlights are switched on and night skiing can begin. You have a wonderful view over the brightly lit city. The skyline of downtown Calgary is also clearly visible. Health is a top priority here, so smoking is prohibited throughout the entire "Ski Hill."
