On the northwest side of the former Prosperstrasse spoil heap lies the longest indoor ski slope in the world. The slope winds its way over 640 meters in length and about 30 meters in width from the mountain station down to the valley, overcoming an elevation difference of 77 meters. Two parallel conveyor belts take you back up to the mountain station. In the upper part of the slope, the descent is easy, and you can access the slope from the ticket office and ski rental through the so-called sluice. There is also a short rope lift here, specially built for beginners. This allows you to practice perfectly without having to ski all the way down to the valley. Once you have mastered your turns, you can head down to the valley station. The descent becomes a bit steeper and leads through a left-hand bend down to the conveyor belts. At the end of the slope, you should keep your speed up, as you have to walk a few meters uphill to reach the conveyor belts (counter slope). It is highly recommended to ski all the way from the very top to the valley station, as this gives you the pleasure of a 640-meter-long run.
Parking is available at both the mountain and valley stations. The restaurants offer all-inclusive service until midnight. The Großglockner Alm or the cozy Hasenstall-Bar are perfect for après-ski, and from the beer garden you have a magnificent view over the Ruhr area.
