Gastronomy/Eating at the ski resort Alta Badia

The Alta Badia ski resort has become a paradise for gourmet diners in the last few years. The motto is "A taste for skiing" and so there are many good restaurants distributed on the high plateau. Most of the restaurants offer excellent cuisine and nice bars. Fourteen mountain huts in Alta Badia offer special gourmet dishes that are based on typical South Tyrolean products: simple, traditional but yet suitable for gourmet demands. The recipes were created by star chefs in Alta Badia together with top chefs from Italy and Europe. There are also three star restaurants in Alta Badia.

Ütia Pradat

At the mountain station of the Col Pradat gondola lift at 2038 m

The Ütia Pradat on the Col Pradat in Colfosco/Kolfuschg offers a perfect view of the Mittagstal. There is a self-service and full-service area. First-class cuisine and fine wines are served here. The bar offers delicacies with champagne. It is also possible to stay the night at the hut.

Las Vegas Lodge

On Piz Sorega at 2017 m

The Las Vegas Lodge is a cozy ski hut and a fine restaurant with excellent food. There is also a great wine selection and a large sun terrace. Overnight accommodations are offered as well.

Ütia Bamby

On the Bamby slope at 1850 m

The hut is decorated in rustic style and has a terrace where you can enjoy the sun during lunch. The specialty of the house is organic meat from their own farm. Goat cheese, marinated vegetables and South Tyrolean bacon round off the offering.

Club Moritzino

At the Piz la Ila mountain station at 2077 m

Modern, elegant and extravagant. The Club Moritzino offers excellent cuisine and is the meeting place for society. They offer South Tyrolean and Mediterranean delicacies. The wine selection is very exclusive. Après-Ski begins here in the early afternoon.

Ütia Punta Trieste

At the mountain station of the Pralongià 6-person chairlift at 2028 m

The rustic hut is a popular gourmet stop for skiers. You can enjoy typical local dishes with a good glass of wine on the large terrace or in the Ladin dining rooms. The wine cellar is also very enticing with its wonderful wines.

The hut is located on the Pralongià slope at 1780 m

Rustic mountain hut with typical South Tyrolean specialties in a sunny location. You shouldn't miss the "Negermilch". It will help you to warm up.

Rifugio La Crusc-Santa Croce/Hl. Kreuz

About 100 m above the mountain station La Crusc at 2045 m

The Rifugio Santa Croce/Hl. Kreuz offers one of the nicest viewing spots in Alta Badia. A historic pilgrimage church and a nostalgic hospice round off the offering at an elevation of 2045 m. Traditional dishes such as barley soup, dumplings, Kaiserschmarrn and pasta are served.

Jimmy Hütte

At the mountain station of the Frara gondola lit near the Grödnerjoch at 2222 m

The Jimmy Hütte offers tasty dishes for gourmets and a good wine selection. You can be spoiled in the cozy dining room or on the panorama sun terrace with a view of the Sellastock. The hut is a member of "Skifahren mit Genuss" (a taste for skiing) in Alta Badia.

Ütia Malga Saraghes

On the valley run to San Cassiano at 1837 m

The rustic Saraghes Hütte offers good food with table service and a cozy sun terrace with a bar. The playground is a highlight for the children.
