Environmental friendliness of the ski resort Wildkogel – Neukirchen/Bramberg

In 2010, the ski resort of Wildkogel installed a photovoltaic system at 2,100 metres above sea level. 75 per cent of the total power required to operate the Wildkogelbahn lifts is supplied by this highest solar power system in Europe. As a member of the "Alpinen Perlen" (Alpine Pearls) programme, the Wildkogel Arena has committed to environmentally friendly holidays. It offers visitors the option of “Gentle Mobility in the Winter" with stress-free return travel by bus or train: free ski bus connections throughout the entire Wildkogel Arena, scheduled buses, train connections and the additional ‘Rodlerzug’ train for tobogganers. The new E-Liner (electric bus) has replaced the local bus in Neukirchen. There are also charging points for electric vehicles in Neukirchen and Bramberg.
