The evaluation is done as follows

Advanced skiing, freeriding (powder snow skiing) Garmisch-Classic – Garmisch-Partenkirchen

A quarter of the runs in the Garmisch-Classic ski area are marked as difficult. The long valley runs, especially the 3,500 m Kandahar run, challenge advanced skiers. Here you'll also find the "Freier Fall" (92% gradient, bypass available), the steepest section of the Alpine Ski World Cup. When snow conditions are right, freeriders will find what they're looking for at Osterfelderkopf, Hochalm, Längenfelderbahn, and Bernadeinlift.

Information for advanced skiers, freeriders
  • some freeride/deep snow areas
  • few mogul slopes

Most difficult run
  • Kandahar downhill run · Length 3.5 km · Elevation difference 940 m
The steepest and most challenging sections are "Freier Fall" and Tröglhang. Before the World Cup races, certain sections are closed for preparation reasons, and alternatives are provided in those areas.

General note: Always mind the avalanche warnings and barriers, please. Never ski into a closed and unsecured area.
