Since the winter season 2007/2008, Denmark's sunny island of Bornholm has gained another attraction: The association "Skifreunde Bornholm" (Bornholms Skivenner) operates a total of three slopes: one for children, one blue slope, and one black slope with a rather steep descent by Danish standards. There is also a 21.5-kilometer-long cross-country trail. When snow conditions are good, the ski area is open on Saturdays and Sundays from 11 am to 4 pm.
