Description Wittenburg (alpincenter Hamburg-Wittenburg)

The alpincenter Hamburg-Wittenburg is located in Wittenburg, right on the A24, the highway between Hamburg and Berlin. Opened on December 8, 2006, the ski hall is the fifth of its kind in Germany.

With one of the 55 chairlifts, you reach the start of the main slope, which is 330 meters long and up to 80 meters wide. This slope runs down to the valley on both sides of the chairlift. While riding the four-seater chairlift, which goes up through the center of the hall, you can watch all the activity on the slopes. A drag lift on the right side of the hall pulls winter sports enthusiasts almost all the way to the top.

For beginners and children, there is a practice slope in the lower left part of the hall, with a beginner’s piste and a children’s area about 80 meters long and 40 meters wide. Here, a rope lift conveniently brings winter sports enthusiasts back to the start. Snowboarders will find a small fun park with rails and jumps in the upper part of the ski hall (only during the main season).

Of course, skiing and snowboarding are not the only highlights at alpincenter Hamburg-Wittenburg. Below the ski hall, there is a go-kart track over 1 km long and a high ropes course. And that’s not all: around the hall, there are more attractions such as an adventure playground, a beach volleyball court with two courts, a large quad area, and much more. There’s something for everyone here!

There are also plenty of culinary options—whether you prefer traditional Austrian cuisine at Kupferdachl on the first floor, rustic dishes at the Wirtshaus, or the self-service restaurant. You almost always have a wonderful view of the slopes and can watch the athletes skiing and snowboarding. In the Gletscherstubn and Wolkenstürmer (with bars), there is daily après-ski, and on weekends, the atmosphere is lively. If you don’t want to drive home afterwards, you can stay at the Van der Valk Hotel Hamburg-Wittenburg, located right next to the ski hall.
