Description Speikboden – Skiworld Ahrntal

Shortly after Sand in Taufers, you reach the valley station of the Speikboden ski area at an altitude of 950 m. In the valley, there are conveyor belts especially for beginners and families. The modern eight-person gondola lift takes you up to Speikboden at just under 2000 m without a mid-station, making a gentle left turn past the former mid-station.

From here, you can continue upwards with the 8-seater chairlift Seenock to about 2300 m. From there, mostly easy to intermediate, very wide slopes on treeless hillsides lead back down to the Speikboden mountain station.

For beginners and as a feeder lift to the 4-seater chairlift Sonnklar, the eight-person gondola lift Alm-Express is very well suited. Along this lift, you will find very easy but also wide slopes, and there is a covered SunKid conveyor belt, making this the ideal area to learn winter sports.

If you take the top-quality, intermediate slope down to the valley, you will reach the 4-seater chairlift Bernhard Glück in the upper section, which also provides access to intermediate slopes and leads up to 2200 m. From the mountain station, you can also reach the 4-seater chairlift Sonnklar.

The 4-seater chairlift Sonnklar takes you up to 2400 m, the highest point in the Speikboden ski area. From up here, you have a magnificent view of the surrounding mountains, all the way to the Dolomites. The two slopes from up here are difficult and attract advanced skiers. Thanks to excellent grooming, good skiers can also master these runs.

The Michl run down to the valley is of intermediate difficulty and leads through forest and across alpine meadows. It is also fully covered with artificial snow, so the valley run is possible even with little natural snow. There are several places to stop for refreshments at the Speikboden mountain station, including an igloo, cozy restaurants, and huts. For après-ski, there is a large umbrella bar and the Ahris at the valley station.
