Skiresort.info test report

Test result

4 out of 5 stars

Evaluated by Skiresort.info, the world's largest test portal for ski resorts.
The evaluation is done as follows

Environmental protection of the ski resort SNØ

A great deal of energy is required to operate an indoor ski resort. The SNØ indoor ski area is so efficiently insulated that is classed as a ‘plus’ building. This means that the SNØ indoor ski area produces more energy than it actually uses. The excess energy is used to provide district heating and cooling in the local region. From an environmental sustainability perspective, around 23% more energy is produced as heating for other buildings than is used for the operation of the indoor ski area. The SNØ ski hall is also installing a photovoltaic system on the roof. It also collects returnable bottles at the entrance to the chairlift.

Public transportation/on-site mobility

  • Train connection
    Lørenskog
  • No ski buses
  • Scheduled buses
  • The SNØ indoor ski area has very good train and bus links from Oslo.
