Beginners can get off to a good start in the Santa Caterina Valfurva ski area. Practice areas with conveyor belts are available at the Plaghera mid-station and in the Vall dell'Alpe (Sunny Valley). Around the Plaghera mid-station, beginners will find easy slopes at the platter lifts. There is no easy valley run. The local ski school offers group or private lessons. In the valley, near the cross-country center, there is a practice area run by the ski school.
