Description Sandboarding Mesaieed (Doha)
About an hour’s drive south of the capital Doha, the vast desert begins, stretching all the way to the Saudi Arabian border. There are many opportunities to spend your leisure time here and to try out various sports. Highly recommended are sandboarding or dune buggy rides. After an exhilarating drive through the desert, you reach the Bedouin camp, where you can race down the sand dunes. There is a barbecue, and you can relax around a campfire and enjoy Arabic specialties. You can also go swimming in the warm sea. A unique attraction is the "Inland-Sea" in the south of the peninsula—a huge saltwater lake in the middle of the desert, connected to the sea by a 7 km long channel. For 2015, a new indoor ski hall is planned in Entertainment City in Lusail. The new city of Lusail is being built near Doha.
