Evaluated by Skiresort.info, the world's largest test portal for ski resorts.
The evaluation is done as follows
Environmental protection of the ski resort Saint-Lary-Soulan
The Saint-Lary-Soulan ski resort is deeply committed to preserving the beautiful nature of the Pyrenees. The resort is located on the edge of the Pyrenees National Park. Some ski slopes are even within the national park boundaries and therefore cannot be artificially snowed. The construction of new facilities is only permitted under strict conditions. Electricity is generated from 100% renewable energy sources (hydropower and wind power). Great importance is placed on recycling ski passes and waste separation. Altiservice has installed special collection containers to gather cigarette butts, which are then recycled by the company Terracycle. On weekends (Saturday and Sunday) and on Wednesdays, there is a bus connection from Toulouse (from 6 stations in the city) at a very good price, including a ski pass. This helps to minimize individual car traffic.
