Gastronomy tip
Drehrestaurant Allalin
At Mittelallalin at 3,500 m
The revolving restaurant Allalin is the highest revolving restaurant in the world. While you enjoy a leisurely meal, an impressive panorama passes by the window: the Po Valley of Italy, the Allalin, the local mountain covered in eternal ice, the Dom, the highest mountain located entirely on Swiss soil, and the Bernese Alps. Within one hour, the restaurant completes a full rotation on its own axis.
Bergrestaurant Spielboden
At the mountain station of the Spielbodenbahn at 2,450 m
The rustic and cozy mountain restaurant Spielboden offers excellent cuisine and a large selection of wines. In February 2013, it received 18 out of a possible 20 Gault Millau points. On sunny days, the sun terrace is especially inviting.
Mountain hut tip
Gletschergrotte
At the valley run Gletschergrotte (4b) at 2000 m
The glacier grotto, also known as "Gröttli," is the insider tip for delicious Valais specialties and a cozy atmosphere. From the sun terrace, you have a magnificent view of the surrounding mountains and the Saas-Fee ski area. On cold days, a fireplace in the rustic lounge provides warmth.
