The energy city of Saas-Fee is a role model in environmental protection. It is the world’s first CO2-neutral municipality. The village is completely car-free and free of fine particulate matter. All chimneys are equipped with fine particle filters. Saas-Fee obtains 100% clean natural energy from Valais hydropower. The glacier village is probably the most environmentally friendly and sustainable tourist destination in Switzerland. Public transport is promoted.

- The PostBus connects the four Saas communities (Saas-Fee, Saas-Balen, Saas-Grund, and Saas-Almagell), and with the Bürgerpass, use is free of charge. The electric local bus from the parking garage to the ski area in Saas-Fee is free for everyone.
