The state-of-the-art 10-seater gondola lift Saanenwald-Saanerslochgrat serves the second section of the renewal project for the lift route to Saanerslochgrat. It replaces the 6-seater gondola lift Saanenwald-Saanerslochgrat. The first section is covered by the identical 10-seater gondola lift Saanenmöser-Saanenwald.
The new 10-seater gondola lift is manufactured by Garaventa-Doppelmayr. This state-of-the-art D-Line lift system brings a new level of quality to the route to Saanerslochgrat. It offers more capacity and greater comfort. The travel time from the Saanenwald mid-station to Saanerslochgrat is reduced to under seven minutes, while the first section Saanenmöser-Saanenwald takes just under three and a half minutes.
The new lift is equipped with significantly more spacious cabins than its predecessor. The well-thought-out design of the operating equipment also allows for the transport of loaded pallets for the mountain restaurants, saving additional trips. The entry and exit points at the stations are designed to be at ground level. In addition to increased comfort for passengers, this also enhances safety.
The stations of the two new gondola lifts offer added visual and architectural value. Local wood is used as the main building material. The glass station cover creates an innovative appearance. As in the valley station, large wooden beams remain visible and define the space in the mountain station. The building’s position on the edge of the slope is emphasized by the cantilevered effect of its architecture.
