The state-of-the-art 10-seater gondola lift Saanenmöser-Saanenwald is the first part of the renewal project for the lift route to Saanerslochgrat. It replaces the 6-seater gondola lift Saanenmöser-Saanenwald. The second section is served by the identical 10-seater gondola lift Saanenwald-Saanerslochgrat.
The new 10-seater gondola lift from Garaventa-Doppelmayr brings a new level of quality to the route to Saanerslochgrat. The D-Line lift system offers more capacity and greater comfort. The travel time on the first section Saanenmöser-Saanenwald is now reduced to under three and a half minutes, while the ride on the second section Saanenwald-Saanerslochgrat takes less than seven minutes.
The cabins of the new lift are significantly more spacious than those of its predecessor. Their thoughtful design also allows for the transport of loaded pallets to supply the mountain restaurants, reducing the need for additional trips. The platforms at the stations are at ground level, which not only increases comfort for guests but also enhances safety.
The stations of the new lift also offer added visual and architectural value. The main construction material is local wood. A designer glass station cover ensures an innovative appearance. In the valley station, large wooden beams define the interior as well as the west and east facades. The glazed main facade also allows plenty of natural light inside. Highly efficient photovoltaic elements are cleverly integrated into the pitched roof of the valley station. The mid-station of the overall project provides a view of the lift technology. The mountain station, which will then be served by the second section Saanenwald-Saanerslochgrat, echoes the design language of the valley station.
