The Swiss ski legend Michael von Grünigen comes from Schönried and once practiced skiing extensively on the sunny Rellerli mountain. Rellerli was a rather small ski area with wide, leisurely slopes of all difficulty levels. It was a great place for sporty skiing and snowboarding, but beginners also felt very comfortable here. Unfortunately, the ski area was closed on December 31, 2018, and is no longer in operation for skiing and snowboarding.
