Pamporovo is located in the south of Bulgaria in the Rhodope Mountains. The ski area is about 10 km south of Tschepelare (Chepelare), 15 km north of Smoljan (Smolyan), and about 80 km south of Plowdiw (Plovdiv), the second largest city in Bulgaria. The nearest motorway, the A1 Sofia-Burgas, runs north of Plowdiw.
The drive from Sofia takes about 3 hours. Other distances: Thessaloniki 5 hours, Istanbul 6 hours, Bucharest 6.5 hours, and Belgrade 7 hours.
There are several entry points. Many parking spaces are free of charge.
