From the edge of Oberstdorf, the Nebelhornbahn cable car ascends in three sections up to the 2,224 m high Nebelhorn. For the 2021/22 season, the Nebelhornbahn was renewed. Now, a state-of-the-art 10-seater gondola comfortably takes you from Oberstdorf up to the second section at Höfatsblick.
The first stop is the Seealpe station at 1,280 m. Beginners will find the Seealp drag lift and an ideal practice area with the NTC ski school grounds at Seealpe. Taking the second section of the Nebelhornbahn, you reach the Höfatsblick station at 1,932 m. The Nebelhorn-Gipfelbahn then takes you from Höfatsblick up to the summit. Most of the slopes are located in a sunny bowl between 1,932 m and 2,224 m and are served not only by the cable car but also by the Koblat four-seater chairlift. Here, you’ll find ideal and very snow-sure conditions on treeless slopes. Freeriders will also get their money’s worth, as there is plenty of open ski terrain.
Relatively steep runs lead further down to the Sonngehren double chairlift, which starts at 1,660 m and ends back at Höfatsblick. You can reach Seealpe via a challenging run with a fast section at the end.
Thanks to snowmaking, you can ski almost the entire season from Seealpe all the way down to Oberstdorf. From the end of the run, it’s about a 2-3 minute walk to the valley station. Throughout the area, you’ll find well-maintained restaurants such as the Gipfelrestaurant Nebelhorn 2224, the Marktrestaurant, and the Seealpe inn. You can really enjoy the sun at the Gemsnest panoramic bar.
