The Nakiska ski area is deeply committed to environmental protection and preserving the stunning landscape of the Canadian Rocky Mountains. Several programs have been implemented to save water, conserve energy, and promote recycling. Snowmaking is carried out according to the guidelines of the NSAA (National Ski Area Association) Sustainable Slopes Program. Under the motto "Trees are for Glades," Nakiska has significantly reduced the printing of promotional brochures and therefore plants a tree for every new newsletter subscriber.
