The Nakiska ski resort is located in Kananaskis County in the province of Alberta. It lies in the Canadian Rocky Mountains and is only 45 minutes from Calgary. From the Trans-Canada Highway 1, the well-developed Kananaskis Trail 40 leads about 23 km to the turnoff for the ski resort. From there, it’s just over 2 km to the spacious parking lots. Parking is free, and from the parking lots you can easily walk to the slopes and lifts. Winter Closure
Access to the Nakiska ski area is only possible via Kananaskis Trail 40 from the Trans-Canada Highway. The route from Longview on Kananaskis Trail 40 is closed in winter.
