Environmental protection of the ski resort Mt. Norquay – Banff

The Mt. Norquay ski resort is located in Banff National Park. All interventions in nature are strictly limited and monitored by Parks Canada. Environmental protection therefore plays a very important role. The entire ski area—from the ski lifts to the lighting—is powered by 100% green electricity. It is the first ski resort in Alberta to be operated solely with wind and hydropower. In addition, single-use plastics have been eliminated in favor of alternatives. Shuttle buses from Banff to the ski resort are promoted, allowing guests to leave their cars behind and travel from Banff to the ski area in an environmentally friendly way.
