Description Mitterdorf – Almberg

The ski area on the 1,139 m high Almberg, with easy to intermediate slopes, offers great skiing and snowboarding fun especially for families. At the summit, lifts from three directions converge: from Bärnbachklause (841 m) the 6-seater chairlift Großer Almberg, and from Mitterfirmiansreut the Almwiesenlift and the 4-seater chairlift Kleiner Almberg.

A highlight is the 1.3 km long slope at the Großer Almberg chairlift, offering a magnificent view over the Bavarian Forest.

The Almwiesenlift, a curved drag lift, is the connoisseur’s lift on the sunny slope and serves a wide and very easy slope. A 186 m long covered conveyor belt also provides access to a toboggan and Zibob run as well as a practice area.

At the valley station of the Almwiesenlift, you’ll find the Junior Ski Zirkus for little skiers and beginners in the Alpe district, featuring covered magic carpets, a carousel, a warming room, and restrooms. Here, children can learn to ski in a playful way.

On the easy slope at the Almwiesenlift, you’ll find the Almberghütte and Gasthof Alpe, where Bavarian specialties are served.

The descent from the summit along the Kleiner Almberg chairlift is of intermediate difficulty and leads into the village of Mitterfirmiansreut and to the central ticket office. A connecting trail takes you to the Kirchenlift and Babylift, which serve an easy slope. Night skiing takes place several times a week at the Kirchenlift and Kißlingerlift.

Below the village of Mitterfirmiansreut is the Kißlingerlift drag lift, which serves a difficult slope. Ski races are often held here, as the slope is ideal for competitions.

The Mitterdorf ski center is renowned far beyond the Bavarian Forest for its family-friendly offerings and perfectly groomed slopes.
