Description Mitterdorf (Almberg) – Mitterfirmiansreut

The ski area around the 1,139 m high Almberg, with its easy to intermediate slopes, offers maximum skiing and snowboarding fun, especially for families. At the top of Almberg, the lifts from three sides meet – from Bärnbachklause (841 m) the Almberg double chairlift, as well as the Almwiesenlift and the Kleine Almberglift from Mitterfirmiansreut.

The Almwiesenlift, a curved drag lift, is considered the connoisseur’s lift on the sunny slope and provides access to a wide and very easy run. A 186 m long covered conveyor belt also serves a toboggan and Zibob run and a practice area. At the valley station of the Almwiesenlift, you’ll find the Junior Ski Zirkus for little skiers and beginners in the Alpe district, with covered magic carpets, a carousel, a warming room, and restrooms. Here, children learn to ski through play, with free organic tea for them and mulled wine for adults. On the easy slope at the Almwiesenlift, you’ll find the Gasthof Alpe, where Bavarian specialties are served. The run from the summit along the Kleine Almberglift is of intermediate difficulty and leads into the village of Mitterfirmiansreut and to the central ticket office. A connecting trail leads to the Kirchenlift and the Babylift, which provide access to an easy slope. Night skiing takes place several times a week at the Kirchenlift and Kißlingerlift.

Via connecting trails, you can reach either the Kleine Almlift or the Almwiesenlift and thus be taken back up to Almberg. Below the village of Mitterfirmiansreut is the Kißlingerlift drag lift, which serves a difficult slope. Ski races are often held here, as the slope is ideal for competitions.
The Mitterdorf ski center is well known far beyond the Bavarian Forest for its family-friendly offerings and perfectly groomed slopes.
