The Grands Montets ski area is located in the Vallée de Chamonix. From the mountaineering village of Argentière, the cable cars quickly reach the tree line. Most of the slopes for skiing and snowboarding are situated above 2,000 m. Part of the area is on a glacier, the Glacier des Rognons.The Grands Montets ski area is located in the Vallée de Chamonix. Part of the area is on a glacier, the Glacier des Rognons. Advanced skiers and freeriders especially appreciate the long runs and freeride slopes in the Grands Montets winter sports area. At the valley station in Argentière, there is a designated beginner area, and additional easy slopes for skiing can be found at mid-altitude in the ski area.
