Advanced skiing, freeriding (powder snow skiing) Gaustablikk – Rjukan
At Gaustablikk Skisenter, advanced skiers will find several challenging slopes at Gaustablikk Expressen, Skipsheisen, and Brendstaulheisen. If you prefer open ski terrain, the Fjellheisen drag lift is the perfect choice. An absolute highlight is the ride with the Gaustabanen up to Gaustatoppen. Please note that a separate ticket is required, and during high season, the bus to the valley station operates; otherwise, you will need your own car to reach the valley station. From Gaustatoppen, a difficult ski route leads back down to the valley and into the ski area. The most extreme skiers can tackle the almost vertical couloirs of the mountain. Gaustatoppen is especially popular after fresh snowfall. However, you should arrive early at the lift, as only 40 people can be transported to the top per hour.
- many freeride/deep snow areas
