Beginners Big White
The Big White ski resort is a perfect destination for beginners. Almost the entire ski area can be explored on easy and wide slopes. In Happy Valley, at the base station of Lara's Gondola, beginners can practice their first turns on two magic carpets. Lara's Gondola connects Happy Valley with the Village Centre. There are also several very easy runs at the gondola that lead into Happy Valley and provide access to the accommodations in Big White Village. Lara's Gondola is free of charge for all guests. The four-seater Plaza Chair is the practice lift from the Village Centre, offering several very easy slopes. Beginners can confidently take any of the fast chairlifts up into the Big White ski area, as there are easy runs everywhere. A tour over to the Gem Lake Express and from there to the summit is highly recommended. Green runs (very easy slopes) lead from all mountain stations back down to the valley. All accommodations in Big White Village are also accessible via very easy slopes and connecting trails. This means beginners can get from their hotel or apartment straight onto the slopes without any trouble. The Big White Ski & Snowboard School offers lessons even for the youngest children, and you can also book your own private ski instructor here.
