Environmental protection of the ski resort Bellwald

In Bellwald, guests are encouraged to arrive by public transport. A cable car runs directly from the Fürgangen train station to Bellwald. Skiing off-piste is not permitted in forested areas. Slopes with insufficient snow cover will be closed. In addition, photovoltaic systems have been installed on avalanche barriers and at the valley station of the 6-seater chairlift to generate electricity.

Since 2007, Bellwald has been part of the UNESCO World Natural Heritage Swiss Alps Jungfrau-Aletsch.
