Experts will find their ideal terrain at the gondola lift in the ski area at Großer Arber. With the Weltcupstrecke and the Osthangstrecke, there are two challenging black runs available here. The black Weltcupstrecke is even approved for FIS Women's and Men's World Cup races in the disciplines of slalom and giant slalom, offering athletic challenges with steep sections and a race-like character. Some mogul slopes can be found at the edges of the runs. Freeriding is not permitted due to nature conservation.

The ski route starts directly at the summit of the Arber and leads to the village of Bodenmais. The trail is usually groomed with a snowcat track. There is no ski lift connection back to the Arber in Bodenmais.
