Environmental protection of the ski resort Arber

The Großer Arber is located in the Bavarian Forest Nature Park. The mountain and its surroundings are part of the protected nature park. On the roof of the Arber mountain station, Eastern Bavaria’s highest solar power plant produces 5,000 kilowatt hours of electricity annually for the Arber cable car. All other electricity needs are met in an environmentally friendly way using hydropower. There are also charging stations for electric cars in the parking lot. The entire vehicle fleet runs on "green" fuel. Skiing outside the slopes is prohibited. If there is insufficient snow, the slopes will be closed.
