Alpe d'Huez offers a huge variety of runs for skiers of all abilities. From wide slopes for leisurely skiing or fast carving, to gently sloping beginner pistes and forested valley descents, as well as high alpine glacier runs and dizzying steep slopes, everything is available. The Grandes Rousses Massif gives advanced skiers the opportunity to cover 8,000 vertical meters and 65 km of runs with just 4 descents (Le Pic Blanc 3330m - La Villette 1295m; Le Pic Blanc 3330m - L'Enversin d'Oz 1125m; Le Pic Blanc 3330m - Oz en Oisans 1350m; Le Pic Blanc 3330m - Auris en Oisans 1600m).

Almost all locations in the ski area can be reached via several valley runs. You can even choose between runs of easy, intermediate, and high difficulty levels. Only Vaujany has a single valley run: the black run La Fare. For beginners, it is recommended to take one of the gondolas from L'Alpette or Villette down to the village.

The black run "La Sarenne" leads from the summit of Pic Blanc through the Gorges de Sarenne down to the valley. Most difficult run

The black run le Tunnel leads over the slopes on the front side of the Pic Blanc, below the Pic Blanc gondola, to the valley station of the Lac Blanc chairlift. The run and its branches are accessible via a tunnel about 200 meters long. This tunnel leads directly through the mountain ridge from the glacier. It opens up an extensive area with particularly steep, bumpy, and ungroomed runs.

The red slope Bartavelles leads from Dôme Des Petites Rousses to L'Alpette. The snow conditions here are often particularly good. Scenically, the run is magnificent: it passes impressive rock faces and offers a great view over the neighboring valleys.
Suggested routes through ski resort
- Under the motto "Mon premier 8000 – à Chacun son Everest!" (My first 8000 – Everyone has their own Everest!), the ski resort recommends combining four particularly long runs across the entire area. Each run covers about 2,000 meters of vertical drop. If you complete all of them, you'll have skied more than 8,000 meters in total. You can get information about the routes at the lift ticket offices. Upon successful completion of the tour, you will also receive a certificate. All four runs start at Pic Blanc. One is the Sarenne. The other three begin with the piste Le Tunnel. They lead via the mid-station of the Grandes Rousses gondola to Villette, Vaujany, and Oz en Oisans. However, this tour is not suitable for beginners: a large part of the runs is marked black and is really only for advanced skiers.
