Advanced skiing/freeriding Alpe d'Huez

Test result5 out of 5 stars

Evaluated by Skiresort.info, the world's largest test portal for ski resorts.
The evaluation is done as follows

Advanced skiing/powder snow skiing Alpe d'Huez

Even the good winter athletes will not get bored in Alpe d'Huez. The long, black runs surrounding the Pic Blanc and a lot of open terrain for freeriding offer challenges for all ability levels. A real advantage for professionals: most of the high altitude glacier runs are marked as black runs, with good reason. The advanced skiers therefore have the best snow for themselves.

Information for advanced skiers, freeriders
  • very many freeride/deep snow areas
  • very many mogul slopes
  • many extremely difficult, steep and unprepared runs (Double Diamonds)

Most difficult run
  • Le Tunnel · Length 3 km · Elevation difference 800 m
Le Tunnel leads over the slopes on the front side of Pic Blanc, beneath the Pic Blanc gondola to the valley station of the Lac Blanc chair lift. The run and its branch offs are accessible via a 200 metre long tunnel. This leads from the glacier directly through the mountain ridge. It provides access to an expansive area with particularly steep, bumpy and unprepared runs.

General note: Always mind the avalanche warnings and barriers, please. Never ski into a closed and unsecured area.
