Advanced skiing, freeriding (powder snow skiing) Alpe d'Huez
Even experienced winter sports enthusiasts will never get bored in Alpe d'Huez. The long black runs around the Pic Blanc and plenty of open terrain for freeriding offer challenges for all skill levels. A real advantage for experts: the high-altitude glacier runs are mostly marked as difficult, and rightly so. That's why advanced skiers often have the best snow almost entirely to themselves.

Most difficult run
- Le Tunnel · Length 3 km · Elevation difference 800 m
The black run le Tunnel leads over the slopes on the front side of the Pic Blanc, below the Pic Blanc gondola, to the valley station of the Lac Blanc chairlift. The run and its branches are accessible via a tunnel about 200 meters long. This tunnel leads directly through the mountain ridge from the glacier. It opens up an extensive area with particularly steep, bumpy, and ungroomed runs.
General note: Always mind the avalanche warnings and barriers, please. Never ski into a closed and unsecured area.
