Access, Parking Whitewater – Nelson
The Whitewater ski resort is located in the Kootenay Rockies below Ymir Mountain near Nelson in British Columbia. From Nelson, take Highway 6 over the 958 m high Apex Summit to the turnoff for the ski resort. From there, a mountain road leads up to the Whitewater ski resort. The first 3 km of the mountain road are still paved, and then it continues as a gravel road up to the chairlifts. After about 5 km, you reach the Glory Ridge triple chairlift with limited parking available. After another 4 km, you arrive at the base station of the other chairlifts, where there is ample parking. The road is very well cleared and maintained in winter.
