A gondola lift runs from the Simeonovo district in Sofia to Aleko (1,800 m). The ski area is located around the mountain station and extends to just below Cherni Vrah (2,290 m), the highest peak of the Vitosha Mountains. There is no valley run down to Sofia. Some lifts have been decommissioned.
