No chairlift, no daylight, no difficult slopesDescription The Snow Centre – Hemel Hempstead
Located about 40 km north of London, England's newest indoor ski hall opened on May 6, 2009, and offers fresh powder snow on 364 days a year. From the ticket counters, you enter spacious changing rooms and from there directly into the ski hall.
The main slope, 160 meters long, is served by a platter lift on both the left and right sides. On the right side of the hall is the beginner slope, equipped with two SunKid conveyor belts and almost 100 meters in length. Both the main slope and the beginner slope are about 30 meters wide, making the ski hall an impressive 60 meters wide at the entrance. The slopes are easy and become gradually flatter from the top station down to the base.
The side walls are decorated with motifs from ski resorts, and in the brightly lit ski hall, you almost feel as if you are in the mountains.
After winter sports, The Lodge Bar & Kitchen is available one floor up. Here, you can look directly onto the slopes and even step out onto a balcony overlooking the ski hall to watch the action.
There are usually plenty of free parking spaces available in front of the ski hall. The ski hall is ideal for groups, events, ski clubs, and for beginners before heading to the real mountains.
