The Solbakken ski area (Sonniger Hügel) is located in the mountains above Sisimiut. Access is by skidoo or snowcat, which depart from Spejderhytten in Sisimiut according to a fixed schedule. The drag lift serves slopes of all difficulty levels, and the winter sports area can be used free of charge for skiing and snowboarding by members of the local ski club SSP Alpin.
