For skiing and snowboarding, there are 45 km of slopes available. 21 lifts transport the guests. The winter sports area is situated between the elevations of 1,435 and 2,552 m.
The first ski resort in Azerbaijan opened in December 2011. All slopes for skiing and snowboarding in the Shahdag (Şahdağ) winter sports area can be covered with artificial snow.
