From Sterzing, turn towards the Jaufen Pass, and after about 12 kilometers you will reach Ratschings. The recommended entry point to the ski area begins right in Ratschings-Bichl. This is where the modern eight-seater gondola lift "Ratschings-Jaufen" starts. Another entry point is located at the summit of the Jaufen Pass (Kalcheralm).
From the mountain station of the "Ratschings-Jaufen" gondola, you have the option to head towards two more detachable chairlifts (Enzian and Rinneralm). The Rinneralmbahn then takes you in the direction of the Jaufen Pass. You reach it by skiing down piste 5 to Kalcheralm and then taking the four-seater chairlift with blue weather covers of the same name uphill. Here you will find wonderful easy to intermediate runs.
Via connection 6, you can return to the Rinneralm. Now you should float up to the summit with Italy’s first eight-seater chairlift "Enzian" and enjoy the magnificent panorama. From up here, you can ski over to the six-seater chairlift with weather covers Saxner, which takes you to the highest point in this ski area.
In the open and wide ski terrain, skiers and snowboarders of all skill levels will find their sporting challenge. Carvers will also get their money’s worth on the wide pistes (a total of approx. 150 ha!!).
The two valley runs "Blosegg" and "Waldabfahrt" lead through forest clearings down to the valley, meet at the Blosegg guesthouse, and then cover the last 500 m together to the valley station. At the Blosegg guesthouse, the detachable four-seater chairlift with weather covers Wasserfalleralm begins, taking winter sports enthusiasts back above the tree line.
In short, Ratschings-Jaufen is a family-friendly ski area with runs for everyone, cozy ski huts, well-kept après-ski, and the most modern lifts! A visit is definitely worthwhile.
