Environmental protection of the ski resort Pyhä
The Pyhä ski resort has been a pioneer of sustainable tourism since the 1990s and, since 2011, is the first climate-neutral ski resort in the Nordic countries. The winter sports area is located in the Pyhä-Luosto National Park. Great importance is placed on implementing environmental programs to reduce CO2 emissions. The ski resort is powered exclusively by renewable energy. Snowmaking has been converted to an automatic, more environmentally friendly system.
